Botswana celebrates Independence Day on September 30, marking independence in 1966.
The national flag is light blue with a black horizontal stripe bordered in white. Blue is strongly associated with water and rain, while the contrasting black and white elements are widely connected with harmony.
For Batswana abroad and multicultural families, pairing Botswana with another national flag can represent two places that matter to one story.
