Celebrate Antigua and Barbuda Independence Day
Antigua and Barbuda celebrates independence on November 1, marking independence from the United Kingdom in 1981. The day celebrates the nation’s history, culture and Caribbean identity.
The Antigua and Barbuda flag
The distinctive flag uses a red V shape framing a rising sun above blue, white and black. The rising sun symbolizes a new era, while the colors reference energy, hope, Caribbean identity, sand and African ancestry.
Heritage across borders
Antigua and Barbuda + UK, USA, Canada or another Caribbean connection can represent families whose stories span islands and continents.
